Prime Minister Theresa May and Chancellor Mr Hammond, are on Hugh pressure to loosen pay cap that implemented seven years ago. The cap restricts the pay increase in the public sector when the inflation reaches to 3 percent and when pay increases it does by just 1 percent.

On a speech to business leaders, Mr Chancellor said, he recognised greatly public servant weariness with the push to fix British finances, but he also gave no signal to an immediate change of plan.
