UK’s household utility provider British Gas has announced, it will raise electricity price by 12.5 percent form September. The owner of British Gas Centrica has said, which also hinted, the move will affect at least 3.1 million customers.
However, the gas price remains unchanged. Having said that the average price for duel-fuel for a normal standard tariff will increase by £76.00 to £1,120, which is a rise by 7.3%.
Centrica is justifying by saying, the rising price was an effect of distribution and transmission costs, including the cost of government police.
It also pointed, the price rise would be the first since 2013 and it is the last suppliers to raise the price.
