After a disorderly and noisy election campaign that filled with many surprises and scandal, the French citizen has begun voting on Sunday morning, on whether an anti-immigration, anti-EU, far-rightest or a pro-EU centrist win the election and lead the country for the next five years. After many scandals and email hacking, still, Emmanuel Frédéric Macron leads opinion polls as French people elects a new president.
Sunday’s opinion polls results show Macron, ex-economy minister, a 39-year-old father of three children is the favourite, who saw Britain’s Brexit voting and American president Trump winning.
But, the future of EU could be on the line if anti-EU candidate Le Pen win and become president of France.
On the other hand, Macron wants to deepen EU relationship and remove economy regulations, has a big chance, currently leading 23%-26% over Marine Le Pen in the opinion polls.
