Over the past few years, DVLA has made vehicle taxing more easier than before.
To tax your motorcycle, car and other vehicles online; we need a reference number from the following documents:
- Reference number from V11 or a last chance warning letter
- The serial number from V5C log book which has to be on your name.
- If you are buying the car and do not have any of the above then, you need new keeper green slip V5C/2. You can get the slip from the vehicle log book.
Car tax can be paid by either credit/debit card or Direct Debit.
There are a couple of other ways to apply for car tax:
Call DVLA tax line at 0300 123 4321 and they provide 24-hour service.
Points to know if you tax your motor by telephone; you will not be able to set up direct debit.
1. You can still tax your vehicle by popping into the post office. All you need payment, bank or building society account number for setting up the direct debit.
